The Mercator School of Management (MSM) offers a variety of programs for students from our partner universities around the world. To make studying at MSM even more attractive the winter semester (October until March) and the summer semester (April until July) are divided into two parts. This gives incoming students a lot of flexibility in designing their schedule. The first part of the winter semester starts mid of October and lasts until mid of December. The second part of the winter semester starts at the end of December and lasts until the end of February. The first part of the summer semester starts mid of April and ends at the end of May. The second part of the summer semester starts at the beginning of June and ends at the end of July. The exam period takes place after the end of each part.
Generally all courses at MSM are to be held in German language. However, each year MSM offers a Summer Academy (BEST Program), which is specially designed for students from partner universities. All courses in the BEST program are held in English and emphasis on the European economic environment. The University of Duisburg-Essen together with the University of Bochum and the University of Dortmund established an office in New York City (USA).
